And here we are, stuck at home, ugh! Hope you like your home sitch, cause I’m sure you’re spending a lot of time lookin’ at it. Is it time for a sprucing? Always! I’ve got some ideas on how to up your decor game with a few objets d’art.
My obsession at the moment, and by moment I mean this exact second (I live for change) anywho… I am loving Rifle Paper Company, especially their home decor. I first spotted their wrapping paper at Paper Source and could not get enough. I use it as a pop of color/style under my coffee table glass, I wrap all my daughter’s gifts with it (she bougie, like me). And then I visited their website, BIG MISTAKE Katie, I then bought pillows for my LR and my bed and I currently have my finger poised over “checkout” on a gorgeous rug (as seen on HGTV’s Home Town) for my bedroom… don’t tell Joe, we’re bout to gut our heinous kitchen, it is butt-ugly gross, so I am trying to restrain myself, it’s sooooo hard!
Magnolia Home is another fave browse, I haven’t pulled the trigger on anything yet, but I’m sure I will after the new kitchen is finished. Y’all know Chip & Joanna Gaines from HGTV’s Fixer Upper and soon on Magnolia Network (coming in July 2021 to Discovery+, woot!), well, Joanna has very good taste, especially when it comes to Farmhouse Chic. In the new Fixer Upper-Welcome Home season she dives into more Mid-Century-Modern, and that really pleases me. The Magnolia website has some choice accessories, usable gadgets and some great deals if you check in frequently.
I miss browsing irl through World Market, sooooo much! I have strolled into my house with a butt-load of stuff I really didn’t need, but had to have, like an orange tufted-back chair to go in my shabby chic LR (whoops… but I love it!), many bottles of wine, funny birthday cards, a bathroom rug, a rando pillow, a fig candle, a jar of castelvetrano olives and earrings! Seriously, I want everything in that store, I have probably saved hundreds of dollars in lockdown just by not being able to go to WM!
You’ve most likely caught on that I watch a little bit of HGTV, duh! One day I discovered Dream Home Makeover with Shea and Syd McGee, OMG adorable! I mean… her house, especially her kitchen… is beautiful. I may have grabbed a few ideas for my remodel, check-it-out. Studio McGee now has a line at Targèt my friends… here’s some inspiration.
Spark joy in your life during the stay-at-home/work-from-home time and give your personal spaces a little zhuzh with a new pillow, rug, yummy candle or something else you’ve been craving. xo-Katie
